The 'Friends of Langton School' (FoLS) meet regularly to support the school, planning fundraising events or community events to enrich the education of our children.
FoLS Update - October 2018
A big thank you to all who ordered their Christmas Cards last week.
We had a good meeting on Friday, with several new faces. Vicky Pears (mum to Thomas in Year 1) was voted in as secretary. The position of Chair is still vacant.
We have a date to put into your diary for a stripped-back and revamped Christmas Fair – Friday 30th November, 5-6.30pm. This years festivities include a raffle with superb prizes, food, drinks and mulled wine, a produce stall, children’s games, lucky dip, the ever-popular chocolate and bottle tombolas and carol singing. Not forgetting Santa’s Grotto! As always, we will need volunteers on the day to help with the running of any stalls, so please, if you are able to, let Sam in the office know, or see Vicky or Annabelle in the playground.
We are also having a home produce stall, which has proved very popular in the past, so any donations on the day of cakes, jams, chutneys etc. would be fantastic.
Although we have begun canvassing for excellent raffle prizes, we wanted to ask parents and guardians if anyone was able to donate a raffle prize. For example, a riding lesson, tickets to a football game, theatre tickets etc. If you think you are able to, please let Sam know, or one of the FoLS team.
There will be a non-uniform day on Friday 26th October, where children are asked to bring in bottles (anything that is a bottle!), chocolate and/or sweets for the Tombolas at the Christmas Fair.
Our next meeting is Tuesday 6th November at 3.15pm in school, where again, anyone is welcome to help with final plans for the Christmas Fair. (Childcare can be arranged in school, please speak to Mrs Ray). The Christmas Fair is one of our main fundraisers of the school year as well as being one of the children’s favourite events and your continued support is much appreciated.
