The year one and two children have had a choice of home learning activities and have completed some imaginative and fantastic pieces of work.
They have looked at a range of dinosaur related books, poems, stories and texts and are enjoying finding out about the adventures of Hypsy in Julia Donaldson’s Dinosaur Diary.
To support this we have been developing our mapping and geographical skills creating Dangerous Dinosaur Enclosure habitats. We’ve learnt to strengthen using folded paper and cards to make 2D and 3D landscape features. This has enabled us to combine art objectives and Design and Technology knowledge and skills to be ready for our eggs to hatch into and our Sockasurus Rex’s to live in.
Watch out everyone – the dinosaurs are on the prowl. They’re rampaging across the dusty earth, swishing their enormous tails and baring their fearsome teeth. Let’s explore the Dinosaur Planet. Imagine you’re a palaeontologist (that’s a scientist who studies bones and fossils). Dig deep and discover dazzling dinosaur facts.
