Mr D Walker

I am delighted to have joined the team here at Langton and I am really enjoying my new role at the school. I have been teaching now for many years and I have previously taught across all ages in Key Stage Two with the majority of my experience being in Year 6. I have come from a much larger outstanding primary school where my responsibilities were behaviour and safeguarding. At Langton as well as being Class 3 teacher it is my role to lead Maths and PE.

I live in a small village on the outskirts of York with my wife and two young children. My personal life revolves around my family and I really look forward to the time we spend together. We go on camping holidays and days out whenever possible and I also have a keen interest in sport, cinema and music. I really enjoy participating in most sports although I seem to spend more time cheering for my children than playing myself now!

The Governing Body

Governors may be contacted via the Clerk, who may in turn be contacted at the school. Confidentiality will be assured at all times. The papers of the Governing Body, excluding any information deemed by them to be confidential, are available for inspection via the Clerk. The Governors publish an annual school profile in July available on line at:

http://schoolsfinder.direct.gov.uk/8152404/school-profile/

The Governing Body, working in partnership with the head and staff of the school, is the agency through which the school is accountable to the Local Education Authority and other bodies, both for its use of public funds and its effectiveness. It is also there to ensure good relationships between the school and the community it serves. School Governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities but cannot act individually. They work together within a set of rules and their work takes the form of decisions made together at full Governing Body meetings or sub-committee meetings. They are responsible for ensuring that the school gives parents the information they are entitled to by law and for ensuring fairness to individual pupils and staff. Each Governor spends time in school on a regular basis when the children are present.

Governing Body for the 2016/17 year is as follows:

Mr A Priestley Parent Governor (Acting Chair of Governors)

Mrs H Turner Parent Governor
